If you are routinely landing Director level interviews but failing to convert them into offers, here’s why 👇
You are likely making one of these 3 mistakes in your interview:
𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫
You are talking too much about the “step-by-step”, “how to” of the project instead of sharing how you created the overall strategy, plan, success metrics and stakeholder buy-in for the project.
𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭
You are taking credit only for the exact work that you did instead of sharing the overall large business impact you created on the profit margins of the company.
𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞
You are using minimizing body language and words in your interview such as “just”, “sorry”, “I guess”, touching your hair, looking down and up or placing your camera sideways.

As a Director-level candidate, your interviewer is not interested in learning about your technical skills.
Instead, they are interested in learning about how you drive teams, create a large impact on the core goals of the organization, manage the headwinds of the macro-economics, and lead with a strong executive presence.
