There is a common theme that runs across all the high-performing women I work with:
FEAR
This fear shows up in many ways:
Fear of rejection from our professional circle if we take a job beneath our caliber
Fear of taking the wrong step in our career and falling behind our peers
Fear of disappointing our parents if we took the path less taken and fail
Fear of judgment from others if we lose our job
Fear of our team not like us if we say no
Fear of looking stupid if we ask an obvious question in meetings
Fear of losing money if we choose the wrong company to work for.
But ultimately, the biggest fear that holds us back is the fear of not living up to our true potential.
And ironically, it’s this fear of not living up to our true potential that ultimately prevents us from achieving our true potential.
You see, only a year ago, I was drowning deep in this fear when I was building Pinkcareers from the ground up. After all, who in their sane mind leaves a degree from IIT, an MBA, and a $200k+ Amazon job behind to start their coaching business?
My friends didn’t say much, but I know many didn’t understand.
My mom tried to sound supportive, but her fear was palpable on each one of our calls.
In all truthfulness, my own hesitation to put myself fully out there for fear of judgment was the biggest roadblock to my entrepreneurial success.
It’s only when I stopped fearing that leaving the corporate world meant I giving up on my success, did I start immersing myself in my business and achieved greater success than I thought was possible.
It’s only when I overcame the fear did I start taking action to dream bigger, act bigger, and be bigger.

The only way you overcome the fear is by building an unshakeable belief in your power to have your own back.
In your power to sell yourself, mobilize people, and deliver big results.
In your ability to grow and learn.
In your power to fail and get up again.
In your power to be ok even if others around you don’t get it.
In your power to get to the next level.
And in your power to keep yourself safe, always.
